Berlin is Germany’s capital of brands, platforms and e-commerce – and precisely these roles carry early responsibility under the Digital Product Passport:
- Fashion & textiles: Berlin’s fashion scene – from established labels to sustainable newcomers – falls into the first ESPR priority group. The textiles delegated act is expected from late 2026/2027; the destruction ban on unsold goods applies to large companies from 19 July 2026.
- E-commerce & retail: Retailers and platforms that place products on the market or import them share responsibility for the passport – and carry full responsibility for private-label products.
- Batteries & e-mobility: A battery and e-mobility ecosystem is growing in the capital region – for everyone involved, the battery passport from 18 Feb 2027 is the first hard deadline.
- Electronics & greentech: Berlin’s hardware start-ups and electronics manufacturers should factor the ICT requirements expected for 2028–2029 into their product roadmaps.

Do you come to Berlin for workshops?
Yes. We are happy to run kick-offs, data audits and management workshops on site with you in Berlin; ongoing project work then runs efficiently remote. That keeps costs and calendars lean.

The first consultation is free; the readiness check is a compact fixed-price package. Everything beyond that depends on your portfolio and systems – and is quoted transparently after the check.
From when do Berlin companies have to deliver?
Batteries: 18 Feb 2027. Textiles: ~2028 at the earliest (delegated act expected late 2026/2027). Electronics: realistically from 2028–2029. Sourcing data from the supply chain typically takes longer than the transition period – so start now. Details in the timeline.
