Digital Product Passport consulting in Vienna.

The ESPR and the Battery Regulation are EU regulations – they apply directly in Austria too, with no national implementing law and no grace period. We make Vienna’s retailers, brands and industrial companies DPP-ready – remotely across the border or in a workshop at your offices in Vienna. English-speaking teams welcome.

01 — Vienna

Why the product passport hits Vienna particularly hard.

A widespread misconception first: the Digital Product Passport is not a German topic. The ESPR and the Battery Regulation are EU regulations and apply just as directly in Austria as in Germany – the same deadlines, the same EU registry, the same obligations. For Vienna as a business location, that means concretely:

  • Retail & consumer goods: Vienna is Austria’s retail headquarters. Private-label providers count as economic operators placing products on the market, with the full passport obligation; for textiles the act is expected at the end of 2026/2027, with furniture likely to follow in 2028.
  • Industry & electrical engineering: The Vienna area is home to electrical-engineering, plant and component manufacturers. For them, the battery passport from 18 Feb 2027 and the electronics requirements expected for 2028–2029 are what count.
  • Hub for CEE: Many Viennese companies steer sales and sourcing for Central and Eastern Europe. Anyone importing goods from third countries for the EU region assumes importer obligations – including registration in the EU DPP registry, which launches on 19 July 2026.
  • Metal & supplier industry: Austrian suppliers to German OEMs receive steel and automotive data requirements via the supply chain – the steel act is expected as early as 2026.

03 — FAQ

Frequently asked questions from Vienna.

Does the Digital Product Passport also apply in Austria?

Yes, without restriction. The ESPR and the Battery Regulation are EU regulations and apply directly in every member state – Austria needs no law of its own for that. Deadlines, EU registry and obligations are identical to Germany; the battery passport takes effect in Vienna too on 18 Feb 2027.

Do you come to Vienna for workshops?

Yes. We run kick-offs and management workshops at your offices in Vienna; ongoing project work is done remotely – just as efficiently across national borders as within Germany.

We trade private labels for the CEE region – what applies to us?

Double attention: as a private-label provider you count as the economic operator placing products on the market, with the full passport obligation, and direct imports from third countries add importer obligations – including registration before placing on the market. Your CEE sales companies benefit from the same passport: it is valid EU-wide.

What does getting started cost?

The first consultation is free; the readiness check is a compact fixed-price package – with no surcharge for Austrian clients. Everything beyond that depends on range and systems and is quoted transparently after the check.
